Visitors of the holy mass in the Imperial Chapel are granted a discounted entry for their visit in the Imperial Treasury (valid for tickets in our category 1 - €38 per ticket - only). Since the Imperial Treasury is located right beneath the Imperial Chapel in Schweizerhof, it presents itself to combine the participation in the holy mass with a visit there.
The Imperial Treasury is home to the most important medieval crown treasure: the insignia and jewels of the Holy Roman Empire, including the Imperial Crown and the Holy Lance. Further highlights are the crown of emperor Rudolf II. (which later on became the imperial crown of the Austrian Empire) as well as liturgical vestments and other precious objects of the Order of the golden Fleece.
Particularly precious jewels, amongst them one of the largest emeralds in the world, testify the Habsburgs‘ former power.
