The Vienna Court Music Ensemble has been in existence for 525 years. The world-renowned institution celebrates this anniversary with a year-round series of events. The ÜBERGÄNGE FESTIVAL will mark the beginning with a sacred and secular programme.

ÜBERGÄNGE will take place for the first time from 2-9 April 2023 in Vienna's Imperial Court Chapel. In addition to the masses, the highlight is the new programme "IMPULSE in the Imperial Court Chapel". Every day at noon from 3-7 April, 12:00-12:30, Nadja Kayali will recite texts by five renowned female authors with free admission. The works written especially for "IMPULSE in the Imperial Court Chapel" and "IMAGO DEI" on the theme of "Balance" will be premiered in the special atmosphere of the Imperial Court Chapel. The series will be musically framed by the Company of Music with works by composers of the Vienna Court Music Ensemble, among others.

On Good Friday, the original sound ensemble dolce risonanza will bring a musical treasure to life. With the sepolcro "Stärcke der Lieb" by Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, an autochthonous musical genre of the Viennese court of the 17th century is revived.”
