Seating plan and Ticket categories

The seating plan of the Vienna Hofburgkapelle includes the nave on the ground floor, „Untere Empore“ (the lower gallery) on the 1st floor, „Mittlere Empore“ (the middle gallery), „Kaiseroratorium“ and „Technisches Oratorium“ on the 2nd floor, and „Hausoratorium“ and the Oratorio K on the 3rd floor.

The individual seats within these areas are divided into up to four price categories (subject to change):

  • Category 1: EUR 48 (good view of altar or orchestra)
  • Category 2: EUR 34 (view of altar or orchestra)
  • Category 3: EUR 20 (limited view)
  • Category 4: EUR 12 (no view, listening tickets)

Standing room tickets are free of charge and are available from 8:30 a.m. before Holy Mass.

  • Nave (ground floor): Barrier-free access by lift at the entrance to the Treasury in the Schweizerhof.
    Seating in detail: Category 1 (EUR 48, facing the high altar, more legroom in row 11), Category 2 (EUR 34, facing the high altar), standing room in the back (free of charge, facing the high altar, available on Sunday from 08:30, no reservation possible). Wheelchair spaces available on request.
  • Lower gallery (1st floor): Access via stairs only.
    Seating in detail: Category 1 (EUR 48, facing the high altar), Category 2 (EUR 34, facing the high altar), Category 3 (EUR 20, sight-restricted, facing the high altar), Category 4 (EUR 12, listening seats without sight).
  • Middle gallery (2nd floor): Access via stairs only.
    Seating in detail: Category 1 (EUR 48, facing the high altar), Category 2 (EUR 34, facing the high altar), Category 3 (EUR 20, restricted seating, facing the high altar), Category 4 (EUR 12, listening seats without sight).
  • Kaiseroratorium (2nd floor): Barrier-free access by lift at the Zehrgadenstiege between Schweizerhof and Kapellenhof (please contact our ushers for this!).

Reservations

By email (office@hofmusikkapelle.gv.at) or postcard (Hofburg-Schweizerhof, 1010 Vienna): please specify date of Holy Mass, number of tickets, preferred price category as well as contact information (first and family name and postal address)

Collection of reserved tickets:

  • Friday (after September, 15 2023), 11am - 1pm and 3pm - 5pm at the Ticket office at Hofburgkapelle/Schweizerhof
  • day of Holy Mass, 8 - 8.30am at the Ticket office at Hofburgkapelle/Schweizerhof
  • Tickets can also be sent for a shipping fee of EUR 5

Please pay in advance by bank transfer, credit card or cash payment at the ticket office within 3 weeks from date of reservation. Cheques cannot be accepted.

Membership 2023/24

The membership includes 5 tickets in the respective price group for any performance of the 2023/2024 season plus one free ticket to attend a chorale mass (03.12.2023 or 04.02.2024). A maximum of 2 tickets from the membership can be redeemed per mass. After purchasing a membership, it will automatically be applied to the next 5 matching tickets you select.

For all further tickets there is a 20% discount (regardless of the price group of the membership). A maximum of 2 tickets per mass can be purchased at a discount.

Membership is available in all four price groups:

  • Membership Red: Category 1, EUR 192
  • Membership Yellow: Category 2, EUR 136
  • Membership Green: Category 3, EUR 80
  • Membership Blue: Category 4, EUR 48

Membership ends on 31.08.2024 and is not automatically renewed.

A maximum of 2 tickets per mass can be redeemed as part of the membership and up to two additional tickets per mass can be purchased with a 20% discount.

for a visit to a mass with the Vienna Court Music Ensemble

Vouchers for attending a mass with the Vienna Court Music Ensemble are the perfect gift for lovers of classical music! A voucher can be redeemed for a visit to any mass in the corresponding category (subject to available seats).

  • Voucher for red category: EUR 48
  • Voucher for yellow category: EUR 34
  • Voucher for green category: EUR 20
  • Voucher for blue category: EUR 12

Vouchers can be redeemed at our box offices and online (subject to availability of seats). Vouchers cannot be redeemed on the day of the mass. The voucher cannot be redeemed for cash.
